Dave and Barbara Miller

2020-07-05 | David Miller, Barbara Miller, Bolivia, Biglife

Dave Miller has lived in Bolivia since 1981, working as an itinerant preacher among Quechua and Aymara Native Americans, a free-lance journalist reporting news about the persecuted church, and a sometimes successful trout fisherman. He shares with his wife Barbara a passion to make disciples of the nations of Latin America in obedience to Jesus’ great commission.

A native of Indiana, Dave graduated from Anderson University, Asbury Theological Seminary and Ball State University. He has made California, Kentucky and Florida home at different points in his adult life, but spent most of it in the Andes. Dave has served as editor of the Spanish language magazine La Trompeta, as Managing Editor of Compass Direct News, and with Barbara as Latin America Coordinators for both Church of God Global Missions and the Lausanne Church Planting Network.

Barbara Miller has maintained a life-long passion for pastoral counseling, developing special skill in assisting families as they navigate global transitions. She grew up in in Africa, the daughter of United Methodist missionaries in Congo and Zimbabwe and sensed a call to cross-cultural missions in her teens. An alumnus of Asbury College and Asbury Theological Seminary, she served short-term missionary assignments in Haiti and Taiwan before marrying Dave.

The Millers are the proud parents of four adventurous adult MKs who are busy building loving families and interesting careers. The couple splits their time between an apartment in Cochabamba and a duplex in Indianapolis, where their gifted and good-looking grandchildren live.

Our pledge. If ever you find yourself in Cochabamba during trout season, Dave would be delighted to take you fishing. If that is not your cup of tea, Barbara will meet you for coffee or lunch at one of her favorite spots in our fine city.
